Introduction

In honor of the humble cabbage, the first Pesta Kubis (Cabbage Fest) celebration was inaugurated on the 2nd October, 1997. It was inspired by former Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Yong Teck Lee.

The biggest cabbage replica in Malaysia was erected as a commemoration for the Cabbage Fest celebration in 1997. The idea for this replica was brought up by YB Datuk Mynor Ginggor and was supported by Mr. Matlan Gamalie, who was the Kinabalu Farmers Manager (Pengurus Pelandang Kinabalu) at the time. This construction work was executed by Mr. Eddy Muhartono and friends.

Among the highlights of the Pesta Kubis celebration are the exhibition for different types of cabbages, cultural dance performances, cabbage cooking demonstration, and plenty more. Make your way to Kundasang this November for some delightful veggie time.
